Local Special Interest Groups and Associations
  • WSA QA Special Interest Group  Seeks to engage members of the high-tech community in discussions on the evolving challenges of software quality assurance and look at ways to advance the leading methodologies and best practices. The QA SIG meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each odd-numbered month.


  • Washington Software Alliance  Parent Organization of the WSA QA Special interest group. Hosts a variety of technology SIGS, meetings and events throughout the year.


  • SASQAG  The Seattle Area Software Quality Assurance Group features monthly meetings, job board, and a richly diversified site with excellent QA resources.


  • ASQ, Seattle Chapter  Source for information on development, promotion and application of quality strategies and techniques. Includes newsletter, events, membership meetings


  • Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference  The Mission of the Pacific Northwest Software Quality Conference is to increase awareness of the importance of software quality. As a non-profit corporation, it seeks to promote software quality by providing education and opportunities for information exchange within the software community. Fall Conferences and training opportunities.

  • Mercury Interactive Seattle Area User Group  Mercury Interactive Local User Group (LUG) meetings provide a forum where you can share knowledge, experiences, and advice with fellow users, as well as join technical discussions with guest speakers from the Mercury Interactive staff, the user community, and partner organizations.

National Special Interest Groups and Associations
  • American Society for Quality  Promotes training, standards and certification in quality assurance.


  • Quality Assurance Institute  QAI is an international organization consisting of member companies in search of effective methods for detection-software quality control and prevention-software quality assurance. QAI provides leadership and state-of-the-art solutions in the form of consulting, education services, and assessments.


  • Society for Software Quality  The Society for Software Quality promotes increased knowledge and interest in the technology associated with the development and maintenance of quality software. Its charter is to advance the arts, sciences, and technologies of quality software and to nurture and promote professionalism in those who engage in these pursuits.

Local Certification Programs
  • University of Washington Extension  This evening certificate program prepares those who have minimal computer experience for a career in software testing by demonstrating the software testing process through real-world examples.

  • SASQAG job board  Post a job, find a job with this excellent resource from SASQAG


  • WSA Got Work  WSA's Got Work! web site is a statewide resource for employment opportunities in the technology industry bringing highly skilled prospects to job postings on our site.


  • Layoff tracker  Puget Sound technology company layoff tracker powered by the Seattle PI newspaper. Be aware of companies whose staffing needs have changed during your job search.
